2144CC/ 5 cylinders/ auto/ 42,300 miles!

I really don't know where to start with this beauty. She is in absolutely remarkable condition for a 40-year-old workhorse and that ever so rare 5-cylinder fuel-injected lump purrs away like a lion & pulls like a rhino! I use these words as she's from South Africa, Free State to be precise. The warm, dry conditions in SA have left her preserved like a mummy, I was and still am astonished at the lack of any rust, she's 100% solid as a 2017 Audi!

The luxury saloon space in mainland Europe in the 1970s was dominated by Mercedes and that still shows today with the amount of old S class cars up for sale. If you're looking for something slightly different, but of equal quality from that era, then look no further! An executive, right-hand-drive cruiser from Audi in sterling condition, that is effortless to drive, is exactly what's on offer here.

This lovely 100 is now UK registered (most of the pictures were taken when she was still on her SA plates) and has a new MOT from April. She was brought into the UK on 67,672KM (42,049 miles) and on 16 May at 67,690KM I had the speedo converted from KM to a new one in miles. It went in displaying 000,003 miles to be precise, after being tested to ensure it worked, before I parted with £90 (plus labour) for it.

From cold she started within a second every time, but from hot it took longer, which we found to be due to a faulty fuel relay, which has now been replaced as well. And there we are, she's as good as new as anyone could ever imagine for an original car that's seen four full decades of (minimal) use!

The interior is almost beyond belief, it's like a time warp. Aside a few heat cracks in the upper portions of the dash (just vinyl), it's honestly truly remarkable. Spacious, comfortable, 70s retro in look & feel and just a joy to be in. Externally isn't much different: there's the odd small niggle on the bodywork, but the paint is glorious, as is the chrome, the wheels, the tyres, the underside, the top, this is simply a lovely, lovely old Audi! You'd be extremely hard pushed to find another 70s 5E in the UK too.

She's surprisingly fast, drives straight, brakes straight and hard, everything is just effortless. The exhaust note is wonderful too and there is no oil left on the ground where she parks!
